GFA Beautiful is a Chrome extension that enhances the Nav Canada GFA (Graphical Area Forecast) page with timezone conversion and an improved user interface. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains what data the extension does and does not collect.

Data Collection

GFA Beautiful does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected (name, email, location, etc.)
• No browsing history or activity is tracked
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage data is gathered
• No data is sent to any external server or third party

Data Storage

The extension stores only two user preferences using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API:

• Timezone setting — your selected timezone for converting Zulu/UTC times
• UI size preference — your chosen interface size (Small, Medium, or Large)

These preferences are stored locally in your browser and synced across your Chrome devices via your Google account. They contain no personally identifiable information.

Network Requests

The extension makes requests only to plan.navcanada.ca to fetch GFA forecast data and images from Nav Canada's existing public API. No requests are made to any other server.

Permissions

• storage — used to save and retrieve your timezone and UI size preferences
• Host access to plan.navcanada.ca/gfa/* — required to inject the content script that enhances the GFA page

Third-Party Services

GFA Beautiful does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.

Things We Need to Say to Cover Our Butts

GFA Beautiful is a visual enhancement tool only. It is not a certified aviation planning tool and must not be used as a primary or sole source of weather information for real flight planning, navigation, or any operational aviation decisions.

The forecast data and images displayed by this extension are fetched directly from Nav Canada's public API. We do not control, validate, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Timestamps, images, or forecasts could be incorrect, outdated, or fail to load entirely due to API changes, network issues, or bugs in the extension.

Always refer to official Nav Canada sources and approved aviation weather services for flight planning. Use this extension at your own risk. The developers of GFA Beautiful accept no liability for any decisions made based on information displayed by this extension.
